Valve Design Engineer

Job DescriptionPosition Title: Valve Design EngineerReports To: Director of EngineeringPosition Summary:Hunt Valve Company has been manufacturing shipboard valves for naval customers for decades. The Engineering Department is responsible for design engineering, drafting and modeling, production engineering, and project management activities. Ideal candidates possess a moderate degree of business awareness along with a passion for the engineering discipline. This position requires the ability to understand the technical requirements of our Naval customers and to implement engineering solutions to meet these demands.2. Reviews and executes product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements.3. Ability to reverse engineer legacy in house technology as well as comparable industry products to trouble shoot issues and consider design enhancements as well as expand our product portfolio.4. Coordination of first of a kind design and qualification activities for new product initiatives5. Development of new valve designs complementary to Hunt Valve’s existing portfolio.Essential Job Requirements:EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institutionEXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of valve design or related industry experienceREQUIRED SKILLS: Must be able to communicate effectively in writing, by phone and face-to-face.PREFERRED SKILLS: Knowledge of military specifications associated with valve design for naval applications or other defense related applicationsNote: This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
