What are the responsibilities and job description for the CYF/CSA Liaison and Custodian of Records position at Fairfax County?
Ensures CYF staff's service requests to the Children's Services Act (CSA) office are processed efficiently so that children and families can receive timely services. Receives and reviews all CSA funding request paperwork from CYF staff for content and correctness. Works with CYF supervisors and specialists when corrections are needed. Coordinates with CSA staff to ensure proper flow of funding request packets. Provides ongoing training and problem solving for all CYF staff regarding the proper use of CSA forms and their content. Serve as a CANS (Child and Adolescent Needs and Services assessment) Super User.
As Custodian of Records: Responds to all requests for Child Protective Services (CPS) records. Redact records according to federal and state regulations. Follows Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) policies in these responses. Interacts with clients, staff, and county attorneys as needed to complete the requests. Reviews records due for purging based on state and local record retention policies. Functional areas include child welfare, Children's Services Act (CSA), records management, record review. Works under the general supervision of the Children, Youth and Families (CYF) Quality Programs Manager.
Position requires the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree, plus three years of professional social work experience. A master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and a check of the Child Protective Services Registry. Driver's license or ability to efficiently access other means of transportation in order to travel to meetings.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Sufficiently mobile to attend meetings off-site. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to use automated technology. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
