EL Coordinator
Job Posting for EL Coordinator at Fairfield Community Schools
Reports to the Assistant Superintendent and Building Principals
Regular teaching contract for 184 days, plus 10 additional days
English Language Learner Program Duties
Coordinate language development programming across all schools, grade levels, and language acquisition levels- Develop a SIOP-based district language development program for K-12
- Serve as district specialist on WIDA Standards and Assessment and conduct and/or coordinate necessary professional development and score interpretation
- Support EL TORs in the district in the creation and implementation of ILPs
- Work with EL TORs and classroom teachers to design Tier I and Tier II levels of support for EL students
- Ensure accurate data in student management system for relevant state reports
- Train new teachers on SIOP and content-based EL
- Assist in organizing and conducting professional development that will help EL students increase proficiency and academic achievement
- Service Tier III students as needed with lowest levels of proficiency beyond current levels of support and accommodations
- Serve as Title III and NESP coordinator for the district, working with assistant superintendent to monitor programming as well as write and oversee Title III and NESP grants and attending Indiana Department of Education EL meetings as necessary
- IDOE EL License preferred, but not required
