What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Pickelball Professional position at Fairfield Glade Community Club?
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
Responsible for teaching group and private lessons to Racquet Center members, timeshare guests and other players. Assists Director of Racquet Sports with programming, including but not limited to tournaments and leagues. Manages Pro Shop in the absence of the Director and Assistant. Available to consult with clientele regarding paddle selection/purchases. |
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In coordination with Director of Racquet Sports, plans and directs instructional programs such as camps, drills, etc.
- Provides lessons and clinics for members and guests relating to the techniques and strategies of pickleball.
- Assists in organizing, administering and officiating at tournaments, exhibitions and inter- and intra-club social events.
- Administers and enforces Club pickleball policies and procedures regarding play on Club courts.
- Grips paddles and performs other light equipment repairs.
- Advises players on rating level.
- Publicize all Pickleball events on the bulletin board, in the newsletter, and in other news media when appropriate.
- Assist in organizing and supervising pickleball functions for members and guests including round robins, clinics, and social activities and encourage member participation in such activities.
- Establish goals and new programs to increase the use and benefit of all Pickleball facilities for the Members.
- Continues up-grading the professional ability of instruction by attending workshops, conditioning, repetition of skills, and competing in tournaments
- Works with Director of Racquet Sports to order pickleball equipment, i.e., paddles, grips, etc.
- Performs indoor and outdoor court maintenance (fixing nets, blowing off courts, drying courts, zip tying windscreens..etc)
- Posts all Open Plays on Playtime Scheduler and ensures courts are reserved correctly based on open plays.
- Markets pickleball facilities to members and guests.
- Maintains a close working relationship with other Club professionals.
- Attends all staff and management meetings.
- Is visibly present on the courts during peak periods of play.
- Works the front desk as needed.
Qualifications:
- College Degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years teaching adults, knowledge of Playtime Scheduler and tournament software
- Valid Tennessee Driver's License required
- IPTPA or PPR certified or working on it
