JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of Restaurant Supervisor position at Janko Hospitality is to provide world class service to all guests. The RS will train and supervise the operations of the F&B department of the hotel so that they provide superior customer service and operate the hotel outlets to assure the highest possible level of guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Available to work 7 days a week, rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime.
- Assume responsibility of daily operations of the food and beverage outlets
- Check all employees for proper name tags, shoes, clean and proper uniform appearance at start of shift.
- Check on guests to get feedback on the quality of their meals, service, etc. and resolve any problems.
- Schedule service for breaks in conjunction depending on business volume.
- Creates the schedule for the staff of the F&B department
- Have excellent knowledge about wines and beer and stay in in trend for food and beverage
- Have excellent knowledge of every item on the menu in order to assist guests and offer suggestions
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods
- Participates in in-house meetings as needed
- Directly supervise servers and bartenders
- Assist in shift coverage in the banquets department as needed
- Other duties may be assigned by management
- Be thorough with knowledge about the hotel, services offered, operating hours of all Restaurant outlets.
- Effectively check out all servers as they finish their shifts to make sure all the following are completed:
-All tables completely set up with condiments clean and full
-All side work completed as assigned
-All carpeted areas in the station are clean and neatly swept
-Count banks at end of shift and make sure all check issues are resolved and closed in the Micros.
CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GUEST SATISFACTION
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and proper uniform within entire department
- Greets guests, visitors and team members in a courteous and friendly manner
- Assists guests and team members with anything that they may need
- Performs other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management
SAFETY AND SECURITY
- Be proficient and train all team members in Safety and Security Policies
- Report any suspicious activity of guest, visitors or staff
- Maintains security for guests and property by keeping room doors locked
- Write up Guest Incident reports as needed
- Perform duties in accordance with Safety and Security Policies
- Perform duties in accordance with OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogens regulations
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physically and visually able to utilize a computer keyboard, printer, phones, and basic office supplies
- Firm and simple grasping is an ongoing requirement for all aspects of work
- Lifting of supplies occurs occasionally, usually not more than 25 lbs. but may be up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand 90% of the day and walk for long periods of time through the work day
- Reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting of body at the waist, and bending are required
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, tax and percentages
SKILLS, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent years of relevant work experience required
- Previous customer service or hotel experience required, “Hilton” Experience helpful.
- Friendly demeanor and excellent communication and customer service skills
- BASSET – Beverage Alcohol Seller and Server certificate preferred
- Proficiency in the use of computer systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Micros
