job purpose:
The Training Specialist will communicate with managers to identify training needs and mapping out development plans for teams and individuals. They are responsible for managing, designing, developing, coordinating and conducting all training programs
responsibilities:
- Track and record all training activities and proficiencies for all departments and generate reports to be communicated with site leadership.
- Coordinates with site leadership to ensure that training programs are delivered and personnel are qualified to perform the operations they are trained for.
- Work with SME’s to determine job specific training curriculum and transform technical information into supporting training materials (SOPs, instructional videos, and other training documents).
- Assess effectiveness of current training, identify gaps, and work with leadership and SME’s to solve training issues.
- Coordinate all trainings internally and with third party vendors.
- Maintain a training calendar and communicate all training events with leadership and employees.
- Assist in conducting day 1 safety and quality training for new hires.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
skills/qualifications required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Instructional Design or related discipline preferred
- 2 years’ experience in a training coordination required.
- 2 years' experience working in manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with SMEs and site leadership
- Ability to work independently and manage projects and timelines
- Proactive, adaptable, detail oriented and results driven
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Able to work in a manufacturing setting and spend time on manufacturing floor
- Understanding of adult learners and learning styles
- Ability to create learning paths and supporting training materials
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and above average computer skills
- Experience with eLearning authoring tools (Captivate, Lectora, Articulate, iSpring) preferred
- Experience with video editing software preferred
- Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
