Overview
M Health Fairview is looking for a Security Officer Supervisor at our Fairview Northland Hospital in Princeton, MN. The Security Officer Supervisor is responsible for the development, coordination and supervision of Security Officers when on shift.
In addition, this position has direct reports that report to a specific supervisor. This position is for 80 hours on the Day shift.
This position is that of a working supervisor.
Provides for the safety and security of patients, visitors and staff and property by responding to needs of hospital patients, visitors and staff, offering assistance and providing excellent customer service standards.
Proactively works to prevent theft and vandalism.
May be involved in high risk situations with exposure to potentially dangerous situations which requires range of safety precautions

Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities :
- Responsible for performance management of Security Officers
- Provides staff with both annual performance reviews and ongoing performance feedback and recommendations for staff development.
- Counsels staff in performance management issues.
- Ensures compliance with HR policies and department and state guidelines.
- Provides and documents orientation and ongoing training for employees.
- Supervises all security staff on shift
- Responsible for scheduling of officers in a manner which ensures the safety of the campus
- Responsible for budget management
- Approves employee timesheets
- Manages overtime within guidelines set by department manager and director
- Responsible for additional Security Department support tasks.
- May be assigned to a specific project for completion
- Provides support to clinics and non-hospital properties as assigned
- Assists Security Leadership in supporting business operations for the department.
- Manages site level strategy deployment
- Conducts effective staff meetings, as requested.
- Responds to customer complaints and requests.
- Makes suggestions for improving department processes.
- Stakeholder in department financial performance.
Assists with Officer patrol activities as needed
- Patrols designated areas according to established procedures and documents patrols in daily shift reports.
- Documents daily activities in report writing system.
- Provides assistance to patients, visitors and staff.
- Responds to calls for services.
- Assists in the control (often physical) of potentially violent individuals which requires strength, stamina, flexibility and critical thinking.
- Works with potentially unpredictable individuals requiring that teamwork and communication with other security officers.
- Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
- Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
- Performs other responsibilities as needed / assigned.

Qualifications
Required
Experience
- 3 years in healthcare security
- 1 year of security or military leadership experience
License / Certification / Registration
Valid Class D Drivers License and DMV record which meets Fairview insurability requirements as applicable for role / location.
Preferred
Education
Associates Degree in a related field
Experience
- 5 years in proprietary healthcare
- 2 years of security or military leadership experience
License / Certification / Registration
- International Association for Hospital Safety and Security Supervisor Certification within 90 days of hire
