Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary (Primary purpose of the position):

Responsible for leading and performing tests and reporting results of requested Laboratory procedures and providing physicians with accurate and timely results to aid them in diagnosis and treatment of patients. Assist Technical Manager by performing specific managerial/supervisory tasks. Provides technical guidance to Medical Technologist Is regarding abnormal and/or Critical patient results, quality control problems, and workload problems. Works under the supervision of the Technical Manager Blood Bank. Complies with the Memorial Health Compliance Program, related policies and procedures and the Code of Business Practices; reports instances of perceived and actual non-compliance to Team Leader or through other reporting mechanisms.

What qualifications you will need:

REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS: (Required licenses, certificates, specific skills, personal traits, e.g., RN, CPA, CPR)

American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), eligible, or equivalent. Must obtain certification from ASCP or equivalent within one year of hire if not already certified

• NCA Certified Lab Specialist, or Medical Lab Scientist, or American Medical Technologist, or Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Technologist

• Bachelor’s Degree Required

• AT least one year of management experience
