What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Fairweather?
We are a small cocktail bar and raw bar in the NoDa neighborhood of Charlotte, and we are looking to add a host to our team. The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion or interest in the hospitality industry and is looking to get their foot into the door of the food and beverage world. Some experience is helpful but not necessary as we're happy to train the right individual. Having an interest in cocktails and spirits is also a huge plus.
This isn't a typical host job, as you are more than just a reservation machine. While your duties would include managing reservations and the waitlist, answering the phone, and seating guests, you're also expected to interact with every guest who comes through the door in a genuine and wholehearted manner. You are the face of the establishment and the first interaction of the night, and so having the right attitude and demeanor is very important. The ideal candidate must also have thick skin as there can oftentimes be pressure from guests when we are on a wait.
