Bookkeeper
Faith Presbyterian Church
Cape Coral, Florida
Reports to: Senior Pastor/Head of Staff
Status: Part-Time (12-16 hours)
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible to recording and executing financial transactions, and managing the financial reporting systems of the church. The role will maintain and keep up-to-date financial records and files, and serve as a specialist on the church’ financial managements systems, including the ACS software.
Work Schedule
The position will require on-site part-time work in collaboration with volunteer counters and data entry persons. In addition, the Bookkeeper must work collaboratively with the Treasurer
(an elected officer of the Session who also provides oversight.)
Essential Functions
▪ Execute and manage financial transactions, including those associated with expenses, contributions, pledges, revenue, payroll, accounts payable and reimbursements
▪ Manage the financial planning and reporting systems of the church in collaboration with the
Treasurer and also the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff
▪ Assist with financial planning documents for the annual budgeting process and stewardship campaigns
▪ Communicate effectively and thank contributors about their pledges and contributions
▪ Maintain and keep up-to date financial records and files, and support periodic audits
▪ Serve as a specialist on the church’s financial management systems, including the ACS software, Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook, and all accounting procedures
Other Responsibilities
▪ Participate in church staff meeting and the occasional meeting with the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff
▪ Work collaboratively with the Treasurer (an elected officer of the Session)

▪ Bookkeeping: basic knowledge of accounting principles, principles of fund accounting, and general accepted accounting practices for non-profit organizations

Minimum Qualifications
▪ Associate Degree in Bookkeeping preferred
▪ 5 years experience with non-for-profit 501(c)3 bookkeeping or church bookkeeping
▪ 3 years general office experience
▪ Demonstrated record of maintaining strict confidentiality
▪ Proven ability to meet due dates
▪ Experience using Microsoft Office and ACS systems
Physical Requirements
▪ Must be able to drive their automobile to make deposits at local financial institutions

Compensation and Benefits
▪ The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and credentialing.
