Pipefitter, Pipe Fitters and Steamfitters

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine pipe layouts and specifications
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand and power tools or machines
- Assemble and install a variety of pipes, fittings, and fixtures according to project specifications
- Test piping systems for leaks using pressure gauges or other testing equipment
- Repair or replace damaged pipes, valves, or fittings as needed
- Collaborate with other construction professionals such as plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians to ensure proper installation and coordination of systems
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to building codes and industry standards

Skills:
- Proficiency in soldering techniques for joining copper pipes
- Strong blueprint reading skills to understand pipe layouts and specifications
- Mechanical knowledge to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to rig pipes for lifting and positioning during installation
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations for pipefitting work
- Experience in fire sprinkler fitting is a plus
- Welding skills for joining metal pipes may be required in some cases
- Knowledge of pipe threading techniques for creating threaded connections
- Ability to assemble and disassemble pipe systems accurately and efficiently
- Basic math skills for measuring, calculating pipe lengths, angles, and volumes

This position requires a high level of attention to detail, problem-solving skills, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong communication skills are also important for collaborating with other professionals on construction projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour
