Scope of Work: The primary purpose of this position is to perform dishwashing duties in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, and glasses in accordance with the standard procedures of the DFAC kitchen department.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean & sanitary kitchen area
- Keep dish area free of clutter and organized
- Properly wash and sort soiled dishes
- Ability to manually or mechanically wash and rinse dishes, glasses, and silverware
- Maintain proper temperature for sterilization
- Manages soap distribution as needed
- Maintains clean and dry floors throughout the shift
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- One (1) year of experience working in a commercial or military kitchen preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance.
- The worker must be able to endure the conditions of and be able to work in a commercial kitchen environment (extreme heat/cold etc.).
- Duties will require frequent periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching, crawling, reaching, and balancing. Physically fit to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
- May require (estimated to be less than 5%) periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary.
- Fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- As a federal contractor, THTBC is subject to any federal vaccine mandates or other customer vaccination and/or testing requirements. All new hires are required to report their vaccination status and employment is conditioned on meeting all customer and contractual requirements.
- Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check. Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
- Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
- Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
