General Responsibilities:
Work performed includes, but is not limited to, acting as the primary community use point of contact for Falls Church City Public Schools (FCCPS), FCCPS schools and departments, Falls Church City Recreation and Parks, Falls Church General Government, and community and private groups; coordinating and scheduling all building usage; and supervising event staff.
Essential Duties:
Accurately responds to all telephone calls, emails, and correspondence queries.
Receives, reviews, rejects, or approves rental requests
Prepares weekly schedule of evening and weekend activities
Schedules staff for evening and weekend usage
Coordinates with custodial crews for setups and delivery of equipment
Serves as liaison with renters; ensures that specific room and equipment needs are met
Reconciles time sheets via an automated time/attendance system
Prepares and maintains system-wide activities calendar
Resolves conflicts between renters and school staff
Prepares and maintains files and records
Performs other related tasks as required by Supervisor
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong organizational and planning skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects based on daily workloads
Comprehensive knowledge of school utilization procedures, practices, and strategies;
General knowledge of public information and public relations techniques and procedures;
General understanding of business and office system routines, personnel procedures, and recordkeeping;
General knowledge of school division policies, procedures, and philosophy regarding school usage and activities;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, parents, community members, and the general public.
Education and Experience:
Two years or more related work experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferred
Physical Requirements:
Medium work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects
Ability to engage in significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions
Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities
The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions
