What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Visitor position at Families First of Minnesota?
Families First of Minnesota has an opening for a Home Visitor for the 2019-2020 Head Start Program year. This position works with preschool children and parents in the home and in a weekly group setting. The focus is to promote the parent as the primary teacher of his/her own children. The Home Visitor will share ideas and model developmentally appropriate activities in the home environment. The Home Visitor and parent will discuss each child's individual growth and development.
This position requires an Associate degree in Child Development/Family/Social and/or equivalent experience and education. Experience working with pre-school age children and families preferred. Head Start parents are encouraged to apply and will be given preference based on qualifications. Head Start and Families First of Minnesota also offers opportunities for continuing education for individuals seeking to obtain their Associate's or Bachelor's degree in the Early Education field. Bilingual in Somali or Arabic preferred.
