Job Posting for Clinical Supervisor, Substance Use Disorder Services at Family Access Center
Family Access Center is hiring a full-time Clinical Supervisor for Substance Use Disorder Services in Western Iowa. The supervisor will provide leadership and direct supervision for the (Sioux City, Council Bluffs, and Spencer) substance use disorder assessment and treatment services.
Requirements: This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services, Addiction, Social Work, Mental Health, or related field with a current certification to practice addiction counseling in the state of Iowa (CADC) Master’s Degree with Iowa Licensure preferred. Two years of full-time experience in addiction, mental health, or co-occurring services.
Primary Responsibilities
Provides leadership, direct supervision, consultation, and training to SUD counselors.
Participates in employee recruitment, retention, and conducting employee relations/human resources activities in partnership with other organizational teams, quality assurance, supervisors, human resources, information technology, Executive Director, and ownership.
Promotes and assures services provided by FAC are quality and consistent with ethical guidelines.
Works closely with MCO’s and Insurance to assure compliance with case planning.
Oversees and monitors provision of clinical services offered by FAC and ensures compliance with FAC policies and procedures, federal, state, and other licensing agencies.
Leadership
Works collaboratively and professionally with other programs and departments within FAC and promotes professional collaboration within MH services team, i.e., quality assurance, program supervisors, human resources, information technology, Executive Director, and ownership.
Supports current organizational initiatives and exhibits creativity and flexibility in times of change.
Leads, participates, and ensures delivery of evidence-based practices across the continuum.
Mentors staff by providing clear and honest feedback on job performance and professional development.
Knowledgeable of FAC policy and practices.
Follows NASW Code of Ethics. Models and promotes professional behavior on a continuous basis.
Knowledgeable aboutHealth Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), Public Law 104-19, and follows these processes and procedures.
Contributes to the management of public relations for the MH services program through positive, professional relationship development with community partners, MCO’s and referral sources
Assures regular employee supervision occurs including shadowing and documentation of these activities.
Works on special projects and other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
Works to fulfil FAC vision and mission, assuring individuals have access to quality services, makes decisions based on data driven processes, and communicates priorities clearly and thoroughly to employees.
Provides oversight of the clinical programming and service quality within the SUD service areas of the organization.
Conducts trainings, works closely with FAC training coordinator regarding SUD trainings and sets up training for new counselors.
Meets and communicates regularly with Treatment Services Director regarding FAC business including:
SUD Counselor caseloads and capacity for referral acceptance.
Number of hours worked verses hours assigned.
Number of appointments canceled or rescheduled.
Any identified concerns, i.e., employee relations/performance issues, concerns or complaints from clients or referral sources.
Approves, monitors, and assures documentation and reports are in the case file in compliance with organization policy and procedure.
Utilizes QA and PQI processes to gather information related to quality documentation of client services and incorporate trends and patterns of concern into coaching and mentoring employees assuring excellent quality of service and documentation of services.
Utilizes EHR to review notes to assure collaborations, PCPs, and all clinical information is to FAC standards.
