Behavioral Health Patient Account Representative
Job Posting for Behavioral Health Patient Account Representative at Family and Medical Counseling Service, Inc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verify patient insurance, input into EHR, and interact with insurance companies
- Collection of patient co-pays and deductibles
- Assess sliding fee discount eligibility and input into EHR
- Collect proof of income, sliding fee, and insurance documentation
- Scan appropriate documentation into electronic health record
- Collection and posting of payments
- Assist uninsured and underinsured patients with appropriate documentation
- Other duties as assigned
HOURS OF WORK:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm, and sometimes evenings on Thursdays
REQUIREMENTS:
At least 1 year of medical billing and collections experience with Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, and commercial accounts in an ambulatory care/physician’s medical facility. Associate’s degree in Health Information Management may be considered in lieu of billing and collections experience. The ideal candidate will also have experience with electronic health records (ECW). The position has a strong focus on billing management.
