What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Supervisor position at Family Development Services?
Family Development Services full time Facilities Supervisor will report to the Director of Facility Operations. The Facilities Supervisor will supervise and coordinate duties of assigned custodial, grounds, and maintenance staff engaged in keeping buildings and physical structures clean, safe, and orderly. They will provide supervision, direction, and perform inspections of custodial services, grounds, maintenance repairs, and preventative maintenance of all Head Start locations in their assigned area. The basic responsibilities and qualifications for this position are as follows:
- Respond to client requests, complaints, concerns.
- Coordinate assigned administrative and supervisory projects and activities.
- Provide training and management for new hires.
- Ability to perform minor repairs and plumbing as needed and ability to serve as back-up maintenance in absence or vacancies of Maintenance Technician is required.
- Schedule lawn care and mulch turning at each location weekly. (Lawn care seasonal)
- Training of new staff and ongoing training of current staff.
- Assists Facilities Coordinator with contacts to public utility, environmental, and energy agencies, as directed.
- Oversees and directs maintenance personnel and workers engaged in equipment installation, facilities equipment repair, and preventive maintenance at all sites, as directed.
- Reviews all work orders for the organization and determines an appropriate course of action to address each work order submitted.
- Assists with the development of maintenance and custodial procedures and policies for the entire organization.
- Implements quality assurance activities including on-site visitation, program review, consultation, and follow-up to ensure compliance with all federal/state regulations and laws.
- Demonstrates an active understanding of role as manager and assumes responsibilities appropriately for the benefit of the entire organization.
Applicants must meet the following basic qualifications for consideration
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of supervision experience of a team
- Ability to work normal work scheduled shift from 6:00 PM - 2:30 AM
- Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
- Ability to work outside required hours as needed.
