Education: High School or equivalent. Some exposure to formal maintenance training preferred.
Experience: Must have basic mechanical aptitude and general knowledge of electrical safety procedures. 3-6 months maintenance experience preferred.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Able to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. The Team Member should have adequate fitness level to meet the demands of frequent lifting, walking, standing, moderate climbing, occasional sitting, stooping and kneeling with or without reasonable accommodation. Working Conditions: Team Member will work in a non-climate controlled atmosphere, in which outside weather conditions greatly affect the building’s temperature although fans and heaters are used. Team Member may also be exposed to moving mechanical parts or equipment, fumes and airborne particles as regulated by OSHA.
Availability: Team Member will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.

Experience: Preferred 1 year experience in heavy-duty truck and trailer maintenance; or a Diesel/Auto Technical School degree.

A stress test will be required if you have a current diagnosis of cardiac insufficiency, collapse, congestive cardiac failure or any other cardiovascular disease.
Certifications: Must possess a valid driver’s license, Class A CDL preferred. Team Member will complete an annual violation and review record and provide authorization for an annual MVR. Current Brake Certification and proper certification to perform FHWA inspections preferred.

Maintenance Tech Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Makes sure workmanship is of highest quality.
- Must be able to pass Powered Material Handling Equipment Certification
- Operates power equipment in a safe manner.
- Completes powered equipment daily checklist to ensure equipment is working properly and reports any defects to management and/or maintenance.
- Logs all battery maintenance and status change
- Ensures all material handling equipment batteries are properly maintained for efficient performance and changes when needed.
- Ensures brake test is performed after every battery change.
- Utilizes CMMS to retrieve and complete work orders as assigned.
- Develops knowledge base of different systems to include basic understanding of conveyor systems.
- Performs general cleaning, oiling, and minor repairs on material handling equipment.
- Communicates effectively with others to minimize potential downtime of equipment.
- Must be able to complete on-line Computer Based training on time and as scheduled
- Follows set safety procedures and guidelines to maximize personal safety.
- Maintains an organized work area and promotes a safe working environment.
- Must be able to actively pursue individual development by communicating opportunities to manager and assist with development of action plans to advance opportunities.
- Follows all Company policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Performs all necessary repairs to all systems, sub-systems and components to tractors, switchers and trailers with the exception of engine and transmission components.
- Mounts and dismounts tires.
- Brands and places tires in inventory.
- Performs periodic FHWA inspections, inbound equipment inspections and PM follow up work.
- Assists in maintaining an accurate parts inventory system.
- Assists Maintenance Supervisor and lead technician (NCDC only), as needed.
