Family Foot and Ankle Clinic is a private practice Podiatry Clinic serving 7 locations in Wisconsin, and we are seeking a detail oriented and experienced Medical Billing and Insurance Verification Specialist for our Weston Location.

As the Billing and Insurance Verification Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely verification of insurance coverage for our patients. In this role you will also:

• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the EMR system for each patient, according to established standards.
• Verify insurance eligibility for upcoming appointments by utilizing EMR, online websites or by contacting the carriers directly
• Utilize payer web portals to obtain and update patients' current insurance information in the client system
• Obtain information on patients' eligibility status with insurance companies.
• Work with patients to discuss eligibility results and alternative payment methods.
• Properly analyze various payor eligibility responses to find the information needed to complete verifications
• Obtain and confirm insurance pre-authorizations when necessary
• Follow all HIPAA, compliance, privacy and confidentiality standard
• Be pro-active in obtaining past-due debts from patients through phone and mail correspondence
• Identify when turning patients over to collections is necessary
• Assists in answering phones within the Billing Department

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills

• Must have outstanding phone etiquette and attention to detail
• Minimum of 1 year experience handling insurance or experience directly with Insurance Verification
• Medical Billing experience preferred
• Must be comfortable asking for payment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.54 - $22.33 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• No weekends

• Schofield, WI 54476: Relocate before starting work (Required)
