Position Summary

Social workers provide direct service that assists clients with their needs that pertain to everyday life issues, complications, and problems, including incidents of neglect, abuse, or domestic violence, or with mental health, and substance abuse challenges. They provide clinical services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric clients who are mentally ill, chemically dependent, dually diagnosed and mentally ill/developmentally disabled.  This includes individual, family, group counseling, psychiatric consultations.
Social workers collaborate with their clients to assess their goals and adjust them as needed. When appropriate, they may also offer their clients and patients outside referrals for support groups or other mental health professionals.  If needed, social workers may also work with the client or patient to secure government intervention or assistance or respond to moments of crises. 
 
 
The Family Health Center (FHC) Mobile Crisis Services and Crisis Stabilization Unit provide immediate assistance and intervention to individuals experiencing various crisis, including mental health emergencies, emotional distress, and other critical situations. Under limited supervision, the Crisis Services Coordinator is responsible for providing shift oversite, coordination, and clinical supervision for service staff and services provided through the FHC.  The Crisis Services Coordinator will lead with passion for making a positive impact on the lives of others and reach a psychological state of peace.
 
This is a part-time (24hrs a week) Saturday & Sunday Night Shift position, 7:30pm to 8:00am. 
We offer a $5,000 Sign on bonus. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide shift coordination of Crisis team members.
  • Provide clinical supervision for crisis team members.
  • Maintain effective communication channels to facilitate seamless coordination during emergencies.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, emergency services, and mental health providers to create a comprehensive crisis response network.
  • Supervise triage of telephone contacts and on-site crisis situations to distinguish between routine, urgent, and emergent situations, complaints, and difficulties.
  • Monitor call volume and service metrics to identify trends and make data-driven improvements to the crisis response process.
  • Approves safe and adequate dispositions of crisis encounters as dictated by the nature of the individual’s difficulties.
  • Performs all necessary clinical documentation consistent with the expectations as documented in the FHC clinical policy and procedure manual.
  • Consults with other professional disciplines, FHC departments, colleagues, administrators, law enforcement, first responders, courts, emergency departments, inpatient units, etc. to communicate, coordinate, and deliver quality, effective services to individuals in crisis.
  • Conduct initial mental health assessments as needed both on site and via tele services.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing crisis intervention and mental health services.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills)
       Education: MSW or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
       Licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or comparable degree and privileges in the state of Indiana
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in the provision of crisis services.
  • Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, risk assessment, and de-escalation strategies.
  • Familiarity with relevant local and federal regulations and guidelines related to crisis services and mental health.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic about helping people in need.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ensure safety and provide support.
  • Knowledge of basic principles of crisis intervention; (1) to intervene immediately after the event and stabilize the matter; (2) facilitate understanding of what has happened; (3) focus on problem solving within the realm of what is possible; and (4) encourage self-reliance to restore.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Think critically and effectively to solve problems.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Handle stressful situations and provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
Shift: Saturday & Sunday, 7:30pm to 8:00am
