Position Overview
Family House (FH) is seeking a dynamic team member to join the Development Department in sustaining the organization's essential mission through marketing, communications, donor relations, and special projects.
An energetic and highly organized individual, capable of and comfortable with multitasking in support of various ongoing projects would be ideal.
FH is a small organization, and this is an exciting role with potential for growth and creativity.
The hourly range for this position is between $20-$22.
Responsibilities :
- Work with the FH Development team-Senior Director of Development, Director of Development, Manager of Marketing and Communications, and Manager of Events and Donor Relations-to support the organization's communication, special events, fundraising, and donor relations initiatives.
- Provide administrative support to the Department, including gift recording and payment processing, data entry and database management, mailings, acknowledgments, copying and filing reports, etc.
- Support the design and execution of Development-hosted projects and events.
- Assist with special event planning, logistics, and execution.
- Support engagement strategies associated with special projects (e.g., fundraising events, donor recognition initiatives, etc.)
- Represent the organization externally via in-person, phone, and e-mail communications if / as needed to explain the mission, vision, philosophies, and functional operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills Required :
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Proven success in managing concurrent assignments while maintaining strict attention to details and deadlines
- Self-motivated and able to take direction
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and independently with minimal supervision
- Strong time and people management and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in CRM systems highly desirable
- Self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Creative thinker with ability to plan and execute ideas
- Experience in nonprofits a plus
Education and Experience :
- Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
- The preferred candidate will have 3 years' experience working in Development and / or nonprofit Administration.
- Proficient in utilizing software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with the Salsa CRM fundraising database a plus.
Physical Requirements :
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and willingness to do manual work (lifting boxes, cleaning furnishings, etc.).
