Job Title: Controller
Status: Exempt, Full time

Reports to: President/CEO
Program: Finance
Location: Honolulu
Purpose:
This position is responsible for all fiscal operations; ensuring agency compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; development and monitoring of agency budgets, financial reporting, taxes, audit, internal controls, and supervision of finance staff; actively participates in the organization’s overall strategy.
Essential Functions
· Develops, maintains, and implements internal controls, and fiscal policies and procedures.
· Provides leadership in integrating financial management to support programs and services.
· Produces timely and accurate monthly financial statements, invoices and variance reports.
· Develops and monitors the agency wide annual budget, as well as state contract budgets.
· Responsible for overseeing the annual financial and single audits.
· Participates in Finance Committee meetings.
· Performs other duties as assigned by the President/CEO, including administrative management tasks and special projects.
· Supervises Accounting Clerk and HR Specialist
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
· Five years accounting experience, non-profit experience preferred.
· Two years supervisory experience.
· Experience in using Excel, Word, and QuickBooks.
· Strong organizational, analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
· A valid driver’s license, clean driving abstract and access to an insured, reliable vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
· CPA/CMA or MBA
· Able to use standard office equipment including computer, fax machine, copier, electric typewriter.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
· The job duties require an employee to handle the physical demands of the work including lifting/moving files, sitting for a long period of time, working on computer for a long period of time, bend, stoop, etc.
· Work is primarily sedentary.
