Under the supervision of the Controller of Financial Reporting, the Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on the financial transactions for FREE and its network partners consistent with generally accepted accounting principles.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
Prepares monthly account reconciliations assigned to this position; prepares journal entries for reconciling items.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of all recurring and standard journal entries.
Review and approval of journal entries to ensure accuracy along with clear supporting documentation.
Review of all monthly bank reconciliations.
Review of all financial statements compiled by accountants.
Prepare detailed variance analysis on the financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information, including updating existing key performance indicators.
Reviews workpapers and reconciliations to general ledger as required, ensuring all are clearly understood and well presented.
Provides support to the operations teams by providing training as needed.
Assists Controller of Financial Reporting with training of staff as needed.
Maintain the general ledger, assist with audit preparations, assist with tax preparations and perform other accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education, Work Experience, and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
Minimum 3 years of experience as accountant required and prior work experience in a non-profit preferred.
Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Microsoft Excel (intermediate level required).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and complete tasks on a timely basis in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs is essential.
Must be efficient, well organized, and have excellent communication skills.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Position operates in standard office environment.
Employee is required to sit, walk and stand for prolonged period of time (at least 8 hours).
Employee is required to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Employee is required to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Employee is required to be able to lift 25 pounds at a time on occasional basis.
