What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Resource Specialist position at Family Resource Center?
Family Resource Center is looking for a full-time Community Resource Specialist to join our time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide enhanced child care listings using My Child Care Plan to all families in the county, especially for those in the Bridge emergency child care program.
Become certified in trauma informed care (TIC) and provide TIC related trainings to all child care providers monthly.
Assist with data collection of providers who attend TIC trainings.
Understand the needs of child care providers to determine resources, training, and support services needed to support the providers.
Work closely with the Child Care Provider Union members and their providers to provide TIC support and parent cafes.
Work closely with the PDG-R Hub counties to provide support for TIC related topics.
Demonstrate the ability to interpret and understand the Community Care Licensing regulations.
Work effectively with schools, appropriate public and private agencies, family service agencies and community based organizations to enhance the quality of child care.
Assist with recruitment, training and retention of child care providers as assigned; provide technical assistance to individuals interested in becoming licensed.
Participate in professional meetings and trainings and attend community events where FRC can promote available services.
Conduct trainings, workshops, and orientations for the agency and in the assigned area.
Collaborate with all FRC staff and programs as required.
Provide information and support services to parents throughout San Joaquin County.
Update program materials as appropriate to reflect any changes or updates.

Ability to work as a member of a team.
Ability to work some nights and weekends.
Ability to listen and communicate both written and orally in English. Other languages desirable.
Knowledge of community programs and resources available in San Joaquin County.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
Able to analyze statistical information and apply results to assigned area.
Good public speaking abilities.
Valid driver’s license, automobile, and proof of insurance.
ATTENDANCE IS AN ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THIS JOB.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree in child development, liberal studies, human development or social services preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of community work experience.
