What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crisis Counselor position at Family Resource Center?
Who are you?
You are a caring and dedicated professional that is invested in providing crisis services to our youths and their families within the local community. You will maintain availability during working hours to conduct mental health assessments, stabilization, crisis intervention, and treatment facilitation for youths and families experiencing severe and urgent, psychological and/or environmental needs on an as-needed basis. Providing crisis intervention services within 30-60 minutes of initial call for treatment is crucial to the success of this position.
You will provide follow up and stabilization services to your clients for four to six weeks on all cases that receive crisis intervention service. You will respond to all emergency requests for service which includes phone calls, walk-ins, and referrals from community sources. Conduct face-to-face interviews with clients to determine presenting issues and services the children and/or family may need.
You will provide resources and linkage to services to clients and immediate family members to stabilize and develop a specific plan for transition to treatment, including immediate safety plan. Complete referrals to other agency programs or external service providers as needed.
In this role you will regularly use various computer apps including Microsoft Office, our HRIS, EHR and other online systems, with multiple logins often simultaneously.
You have.
- Bachelor's/Master's in Social Work or Master's degree in Clinical Counseling with an LSW/LPC or higher
- Previous experience of 1 years working with at risk youths and providing crisis services
- A valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain auto insurance, as you will be required to use your own personal vehicle within the local community
- CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain one
- Willingness to submit background check and fingerprinting
