What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Family Resource Home Care?

What will you do?
- Assist in preparing financial reports to monitor financial performance.
- Calculate, track, and record journal entries for prepaids and accruals.
- Record and accrue payroll transactions and support / monitor payroll tax reporting.
- Manage / process accounts payable, credit card transactions, and business tax and license reporting.
- Track fixed assets and record related depreciation.
- Assist in month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes and reconciliations.
- Carry out treasury functions which may include cash reporting and setting up bank transactions.
- Maintain the general ledger chart of accounts and ensure alignment /mapping of G/L accounts between systems.
- Assist in implementing controls, policies, procedures, and technology to drive efficiency, identify opportunities for cost savings, and support the growth and expansion of the company.

When/Where will you work?
Our typical office hours are Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm. Occasional work on evenings and weekends may be required. This role will primarily be remote, however occasional office days and in-person meetings may be required.
Are you a good fit?
Are you passionate about improving lives? That is the first clue! We need our Accountant's to have a Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related. For this role, 4-5 years of experience is ideal and strong organizational, problem solving, and communication skills are a must. Other essentials include: Technical proficiency with exploring, implementing and/or using accounting-related software and systems, strong Microsoft Office skills, and knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures (including GAAP)
