Family Services is strongly committed to protecting children and vulnerable individuals from abuse and exploitation. When traumatic situations occur, our staff is there to assist the individual or family with their journey of healing and recovery. Family Services cares for individuals who are isolated, abandoned or just need help developing the skills to live successfully.
The Early Head Start program of Family Services is a comprehensive and intensive home visitation program that has a part-time opening for a Family Support Specialist, working 20 hours/per week to establish a trusting relationship with overburdened families by delivering service that is culturally competent, strength-based, family centered and family directed.
Qualifications for this position include an Associate's degree in human services or related field. Two years of home visitation experience is preferred. This position requires successful work with prenatal, infants and young children and their families or primary caretaker. Advanced interpersonal skills and knowledge of programs and community resources to integrate clients' needs and desires into detailed written case plans as well as the ability to work with a diverse population in ways that are culturally competent, non-judgmental, supportive and empowering are needed in this role. A valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle, auto insurance and an acceptable driving record and the ability to manage a flexible schedule in order to meet client needs, which may include evenings, are also required. Bilingual candidates are preferred.
