Job Summary:

The STEPS Family Advocate Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision of the STEPS prevention program and all personnel assigned to that department. The supervisor is responsible for providing training, guidance and management activities on all activities related to the STEPS prevention program in Pasco and Pinellas Counties.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide training, guidance, support, and supervision to STEPS Family Advocates in Pasco and Pinellas Counties10%
  • Participate in the selection, hiring, and evaluation of staff 5%
  • Monitors caseloads, schedules, training requirements, and individual staffing assignments 5%
  • Reviews work of staff to ensure safety, compliance, confidentiality, timelessness, appropriateness, and completeness of services 60%
  • Completes reports, admissions forms, and closure forms and reviews audit case files 5%
  • Observes and reports client change in status to program director 5%
  • Assists prevention specialist in identifying and coordinating available services for families and providing conflict resolution and crisis intervention services to families 10%
  • Other Duties As needed

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in social services required.

Experience:

At least two years of child welfare experience with supervisory experience preferred.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:

Valid drivers license.

  • Interpersonal skills necessary for focusing, active involvement, and participation
  • Strong organizational and time management
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word

Other Requirements:

  • Clear a Level II background screening
  • Clear a reference check (professional and personal)
  • Clear a local background check from the County in which you reside
  • Clear a substance abuse screen
  • Provide a copy of all degrees prior to your first day of employment
  • Clear a Motor Vehicles Records check
  • Proof of personal auto insurance coverage in the amount of $100,000/$300,000 or greater if not insurable under company's automobile policy
  • Clear an E-Verify check to substantiate that the successful candidate meets the Department of Homeland Security authorization requirements to work in the United States (for more information visit www.dhs.gov/e-verify)
