Job Summary:
The STEPS Family Prevention Specialist will provide crisis intervention and help stabilize the crisis, which will prevent the removal of child(ren) from the home. This position will conduct face-to-face contact with the family each week and will do follow-up after the services are in place with the family.
Essential Duties:
- Conducts interviews with the families to identify strengths, needs, and general household information. 20%
- Links at-risk families with services and assists in obtaining referrals. 10%
- Conducts in-home services; parenting, behavior modification, conflict resolution, crisis intervention, transportation, money management, life skills, case management, and education on community resources. 30%
- Provides regular contact with families by performing home visits. 20%
- Documents all case activity, demographic information, and contact with client. 10%
- Maintains a case file on each family with required documents and submits case files to supervisor for review within required timeframe. 5%
- Ensures progress is made in service provision and closes cases in a timely manner. 5%

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a human services or related field required.
Experience:
One year of experience with at-risk children and families preferred.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:
Valid drivers license.

Other Requirements:
- Clear a Level II background screening
- Clear a reference check (professional and personal)
- Clear a local background check from the County in which you reside
- Clear a substance abuse screen
- Provide a copy of all degrees prior to your first day of employment
- Clear a Motor Vehicles Records check and must be insurable under the company’s automobile policy
- Provide copy of automobile insurance.
- Provide proof of, and maintain a minimum personal auto liability insurance level $100,000/$300,000 if deemed to be a driving risk.
