THE POSITION:

The Commercial Director will work closely with the Commercial Senior Director to drive the sportsbook commercial strategy, and act as liaison with stakeholders to ensure that it gets properly implemented across the organization. At the same time, they will be responsible for deriving business and customer insights, spotting trends/criticality's and reporting periodically to the leadership team. This broad and malleable role will lead revenue optimization initiatives across finance, risk and trading, marketing, payments and fraud, and legal / compliance to set us up for the next phase of growth.
THE GAME PLAN:
Everyone on our team has a part to play
- Refine key commercial metrics and collaborate with stakeholders to operationalize these consistently across the organization
- Lead programs of work to understand and action opportunities to reduce costs and improve revenue & EBITDA
- Analyze effectiveness of customer acquisition and retention expenditure, and provide advanced recommendations for segmentation and distribution
- Accountable for maximizing revenue at single customer level throughout their lifecycle
- Be a vocal evangelist for driving focus on profitability metrics with inspire all teams across the business to elevate their thinking.
- Proactively partner with stakeholders on business risk assessments and ensure tangible actions and outcomes
- Link day-to-day operations to overall Enterprise Risk Management, e.g. Safer Gambling, Anti Money Laundering, Compliance
- Assess emerging opportunities and provide recommendations to drive the business to a higher level of profitability
- Provide thought leadership and strategic guidance for the Commercial team and broader organization in relation to profitable growth
THE STATS:
What we're looking for in our next teammate
- Bachelor’s Degree is required
- Minimum of 8 years Sportsbook experience in a strategic / analytical role is required
- Risk management and sportsbook customer profiling/modeling experience is required
- Strategic mindset: takes a long-term view and anticipates future trends and implications
- Commercial acumen: advanced understanding of Sportsbook P&L, business principles and commercial levers
- Professional experience with Excel is required. SQL and data visualization a plus.
- Loves learning and seeks challenges
- Effective at relationship building and partnering with stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes
- Ability to take initiative and produce results in a fast-paced environment, combined with a track record of transforming data into actionable insights
