We’re looking for a Product Design Manager to join our UX & Design team in Edinburgh or Glasgow, working on our Design System.
What you’ll do
You’ll be part of the team that owns and manages Formation the FanDuel Design System. Ensuring that it is fit for purpose and delivering value to the company. Working closely with Product Designers, UX Writers and Engineers to build on our component library and to create guidelines and processes that ensure we are designing and building consistent experiences.
You'll join and support a fast growing UX & Design team, working on innovative new features and building upon the existing experiences that our customers love, maintaining our best-in-class status.
- Own your team’s projects, as well as continuing to execute some higher level work. You’ll manage a small team on an organisational and tactical level
- Lead team projects and goals with a lot of scope and ambiguity and educate the team and stakeholders on UX & Design best practices
- Responsibility for organising the team and quality with any Leads and Principals
- Drive projects forward with a lot of autonomy, and receive assignments in the form of objectives and work on solutions to meet schedules and goals. You’ll develop new approaches for tackling a problem, using known methods, and anticipating problems
- Collaborate closely with other UX & Design managers to align on consistency of patterns and processes across areas. You’ll lead and facilitate meetings and sessions, and contribute to team meetings. You’ll participate in hiring and onboarding new members for your team and the wider UX & Design team
- Receive coaching in behavioural skills and people management and learn to give quality, timely, objective feedback. You’ll coach team members in technical skills
What you bring
You'll have previous experience working on design systems that have a proven track record of providing value to the business and demonstrate UX skills.
You'll have contributed and led multiple shipped projects on a number of products and be able to demonstrate the necessary technical skills and behaviours. You understand the best practices of hiring and have a solid foundation of a professional network.
- Proficient in all areas of your discipline and consistently committed to adherence and investment in systems, processes and customer intelligence
- Experience of working in partnership with product, engineering, and delivery leaders and organised the coverage of your team appropriately
- You’re excited to learn and improve constantly as a people manager
- You can clearly communicate rationale to partners and have developed persuasion techniques.
