Job Description
The External Communications team at Fannie Mae is looking to hire a Campaign Communications Strategy & Planning Manager to help build the foundational elements required for a best-in-class communications strategy from narrative development to measurements and insights. This person will work in partnership with teams across the Marketing & Communications function to deliver on Fannie Mae’s proactive campaign communications.
As a valued leader on our team, you will play a critical role defining and driving the overall campaign and proactive communications strategy at Fannie Mae. This role will also be instrumental at supporting planning for key initiatives and communications programs and overseeing the measurements and insights strategy for External Communications.
This role also is expected to serve as a leader, managing individuals within the team, making people management skills and expertise essential.
THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
The External Communications Manager-Campaign Strategy & Planning role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
- Lead and drive development of overall communications strategy, including corporate narrative, audience insights and channel strategy.
- Leverage strategic storytelling and proactive communications to extend Fannie Mae’s reputation to new audiences and promote advocacy from existing audiences.
- Work closely with corporate communications’ colleagues to amplify storytelling and drive consistency throughout external communications.
- Work as a team across a collective group within Marketing and Communications to develop a strategy for paid, earned, shared and owned content.
- Oversee measurements and insights strategy that resonates with leaders and demonstrates tangible impact across the company.
- Support and liaise on special projects within the External Communications function and broader Marketing & Communications team.
- Manage and develop team members; provide ongoing professional guidance and direction.
- Proven ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to achieve a common goal. Thrives in a team environment.
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to interact effectively with various business units and senior leadership.

- 6 years

- Bachelor degree or equivalent
Skills
- Strong knowledge of current communications strategies best practices and trends in the space
- Adept at designing and implementing communications strategies that drive proactive storytelling and reputation building
- Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand
- Collective capabilities for leadership, including leading teams, giving feedback, facilitating meetings, and coaching and mentoring
- The group of skills related to Relationship Management including managing and engaging stakeholders, customers, and vendors, building relationship networks, etc.
- Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to advance communications strategy
- The group of skills related to Influencing including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict
Tools
- Skilled with all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, O365, SharePoint, Teams)
- Experience with Google Analytics
- Experience using Cision
- Preferred skills in Tableau
