Summer at Far Brook is hiring a Music and Movement Teacher to join our mission-driven team! The Music and Movement Teacher is responsible for the supervision of campers while providing a safe and fun learning environment.

Position: Summer Camp Music and Movement Teacher
Hours: 8:30AM - 3:45PM, Monday - Friday
Camp dates: June 20 - August 12, 2022
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Understand and support the Far Brook School Statement of Purpose and Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Social Justice.
- Implement camp curriculum; bring lesson plans to life for campers through participation, support and guidance.
- Promote and actively participate in all camper activities and projects while working effectively with co-counselors.
- Collaborate with co-workers on daily responsibilities.
- Supervise campers with attention to behavior and group management while serving as a positive role model to campers and peers.
- Communicate with clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction with campers, their families, peers, leadership team and the larger community.
- Inform Camp Director of any concerns regarding the health, safety, and well-being of campers.
A Music and Movement Teacher has the opportunity to teach the following program:
- Day Camp Music and Movement: Campers (Nursery 3 - Grade 8) learn songs, dances, and skits under the guidance of a music teacher.
Requirements:
- Music background preferred
- Minimum two (2) years of college completed - Teaching certification preferred
- Prior classroom teaching/field work experience or substitute teaching experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds across campus. Work outside, upright, and mobile for six (6) to eight (8) hours per day
- Respond to emergency situations which may include running (up to 1 mile in some cases) and ascending stairs without undue exertion
- The Camp Director must approve any non-contracted requests for time off, schedule changes, or alterations to the schedule.

Reporting Relationships:
- Reports directly to, takes direction from and is overall accountable to the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director.
