What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Resident Services position at Fargo Elim?
Fargo Elim is hiring a Full-Time Director of Resident Services to join our team in our beautiful, brand-new 88-bed health care center! In this role, you will advocate for our residents in long-term care and family members to ensure they receive high-quality care and services. You will also manage a small team of activities professionals, plan and conduct fun and exciting activities for our residents.

Director of Resident Services responsibilities:
- Provide valuable social services to residents and their families in medical, emotional, physical, or psychological concerns.
- Assist the team in coordinating social services for the facility, individualized plans for the residents, medical equipment, counseling or other follow-up treatment plans.
- Commitment to compassion, excellence and quality care.
- Act as liaison between families, staff, and various agencies.
- Act as an advocate ensuring basic human and resident rights.
- Conduct and coordinate Admission, provide appropriate referrals and discharge planning of residents.
- Provides resources and referrals to staff, residents, and family members.
- Establish a master program plan that includes on-going daily programs for all residents including group and 1-1 programs, community outings and outdoor activities.
- Hire, train, and evaluate staff in the Activities Department.
- Coordinate special community events for residents and families.
- Arrange weekend, evening and holiday activities.
- Promote resident involvement and active decision-making in daily program schedule.
- Oversee the volunteer program.
- Provide additional tasks as required.
Director of Resident Services skills and requirements:
- Must be a Licensed Social Worker with transitional or long-term care experience.
- Must have worked in activities in the last 5 years, have completed MEPAP course, or must be willing to get certification upon hire.
- Must have knowledge of state and federal guidelines related to long-term care and resident rights.
- Prior experience in LTC and TCU preferred.
- Successful candidates will be mission-minded with excellent communication skills.
