The sports center partner success manager will work directly with the sports center director to ensure the mutual success for both partners and the Park District for all activities relating to the Fargo Parks Sports Center. The accurate planning and coordination of any activity within the building is crucial to ensuring an activity, program or event runs smoothly and successfully. The ideal candidate will possess an expansive desire for exposure to multiple facets of event operations as well as have a strong commitment to organization and detail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Relationship Cultivation Responsibilities:
    • Serve as a key contributor in creating and maintaining a team mentality and culture.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local user groups and other external clients.
    • Promptly handle any concerns by patrons of the building in a professional and customer service-oriented manner
  • Event Management Responsibilities:
    • Oversee the coordination, planning, management and operation of facility rentals, programs and events including, but not limited to, the following:
      • Conduct and communicate pre-event planning and post-event evaluation meetings with external partners and users.
      • Coordinate with athletic trainers and emergency management services to provide coverage at events when needed.
      • Work with facility operations manager and schedulers to create conversion plans based on the building’s scheduled usage as it pertains to all Park District provided items/equipment.
      • Ensure event activities, programs and events fall within industry standards, building policies, ADA requirements as well as local and federal laws.
      • Develop and complete post-event assessments, both financial and operational, for all events to identify achievement of goals and opportunities for improvement for future events.
      • Serve as liaison between operations team members and other Park District staff to ensure success for all internally run programs and activities.
    • Managerial Responsibilities:
      • Hire, schedule and manage ongoing training for appropriate part-time administrative staff needed during building’s open hours.
      • Participate in planning/strategic meetings to ensure building activities support overall Park District goals.
      • Collaborate with director to ensure adherence to budgets and exercise expense management for building’s activities.
      • Monitor facility for any issues or safety concerns and keep director updated as items arise.
      • Serve as manager on duty as assigned.
      • Other duties as assigned by director as this is a newly created, malleable position.

      Experience and Skills:

      EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
      Accepted education and experience are as follows:

      • Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in sports management, business administration, facilities management, operations management, or related field and 3 years of related work experience in related field
      • Or
      • Related work experience of 5 or more years

      CREDENTIALS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

      • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
