Loan Accountant – AgCarolina Territory
AgCarolina Farm Credit is seeking a Loan Accountant for our Finance Department. This role will provide support to ensure loan accounting is maintained in a manner to support preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP) and all applicable regulations. In addition, this role will support the Association’s accounting operations in the areas of loan accounting, internal controls systems administration, and cash management. The Loan Accountant will directly support branch personnel in solving problems related to loan accounting, controls, and loan servicing responsibilities. This role will report to the Loan Accounting Manager.
How you will impact AgCarolina Farm Credit:
Performs and supervises a variety of accounting activities pertaining to loan and general accounting, administrative functions, and branch operations
Supports Branch Loan Accounting while demonstrating strong knowledge of the loan systems, procedures, and controls
Performs complete daily balancing of branches, bank accounts, and General Ledgers, as well as monthly reconciliations
Reviews daily reports to monitor and mitigate controls
Supports keying and monitoring of LSI Insurance program, FCE program, FCL program, and C2P/Consumer loans
Serves as core GFX team member to process and verify vires for the Association
Serves as administrator for CEO portal for Wells Fargo, other depository accounts and LSI system Origami for forced place insurance
Leads support for audits and regulator examinations involving loan accounting
Supports IRS system key ing annually
What you need to succeed:
Associates degree in business, legal, or accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience in these fields
5 years or more experience working within loan systems and understanding loan accrual methods
General knowledge and understanding of IRS tax forms
Knowledge of Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP) and all applicable regulations
Strong organizational, customer service, interpersonal relations, and communication skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal relations, and customer service skills
Quick learner, strong problem solver, and adaptable
Work independently under general supervision
General knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office
