Description
Responsibilities:
· Create a rich sushi menu with various ingredients including raw and cooked fish in accordance with food health and safety regulations and restaurant standards.
· Preparing various types of sushi dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety.
· Organize sushi containers and sushi dry good inventory.
· Sterilizing all utensils, instruments, and equipment used in sushi preparation before every use.
· Manage food preparation to ensure quality and freshness.
· Ensure proper cooking; considering special requests and food allergies.
· Monitor food stock and place orders, as needed.
Maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean your workspace at the beginning and end of the shift.
Requirements
Required Skills / Abilities:
· Exceptional customer service skills.
· Displays strong creative background, able to suggest alternatives, and be open to suggestion.
· Extensive knowledge in food safety, including knowledge of danger zone, temperature control, storage, logs.
· Must display strong leadership skills.
· Ability to work under pressure.
· Create a motivational environment.
· Able to open, close, work mid shift on rotation.
· Excellent attention to details.
· Demonstrate ability to work independently, be an organized, creative self-starter and efficient in a constantly evolving environment.
· Ability to manage and successfully execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
· Able to physically lift 50 pounds or more.
· Must be able to push and pull equipment of various sizes and weights.
· Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility as well as bend, reach, twist and squat.
· Ability to work the necessary shifts in various conditions.
· Able to work with various fresh products, without negative allergic consequences.
