EXPERIENCED CROP INSURANCE SPECIALIST/UNDERWRITER
HOME OFFICE – WEST DES MOINES
(will only consider remote for a very experienced Crop Insurance Underwriter)

As an experienced Crop Insurance Specialist/Underwriter at FMH, you will examine insurance documents and applications, production reports, and acreage reports, and apply underwriting regulations for multi-peril, crop, hail, and private product crop insurance that enable America’s farmers to clothe, feed, and fuel the world. We are looking to hire the right person to work in our West Des Moines office (possible hybrid schedule after training is complete) and will only consider full-time remote if the candidate has a wealth of crop insurance underwriting experience.

REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this role, you will need the following:
- Experience: Three to at least five or more years of experience underwriting (crop insurance underwriting highly desired), or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Agriculture, or related field preferred (Associates degree required).
- Skills: Exceptional customer service skills; mapping and precision agriculture knowledge beneficial; proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Experienced Crop Insurance Specialist/Underwriter at FMH, you will be responsible for:
- Being the primary contact for underwriting needs on a national level for our agency force.
- Processing tasks for assigned agency codes in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assists agencies as they align with FMH growth strategies.
- Completing contract reviews as assigned by Legal and Compliance department.
- Monitoring agent performance by completing thorough reviews and inspections and policies.
- Proficient in all mapping functionalities.
