We have openings for Summer Claims Adjusters in several of our District Offices throughout Nebraska. Our work environment is very goal and teamwork oriented. General Function of a Summer Claims Adjuster:

Persons employed in this position are responsible for, but not limited to, working towards fulfilment of the company’s goal to provide prompt, fair, quality claims service. To serve as a liaison between the home office and the agency force in the adjustment of assigned claims inspections and preparation of underwriting reports. Performs duties under supervisory guidance and review.

This is a seasonal position with the assistance needed during the approximate months of May through August. This may be an ideal opportunity for teachers, retirees, or someone looking for seasonal work throughout the summer months.


Duties and Responsibilities of a Summer Claims Adjuster:

  • Handle assigned losses and underwriting inspections; prepare and submit reports to appropriate departments.
  • The focus is on complying with insurance contract, paying a fair amount, and cultivating and maintaining good customer relations.
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities set forth above, the employee occasionally may be asked to assist in other duties throughout the company on an as-needed basis. At no time will any employee be expected to perform any duties they are not mentally or physically capable of performing.


Qualifications of a Summer Claims Adjuster:

  • High school graduate or equivalent is required; college degree preferred.
  • Aptitude for and general knowledge of construction, agribusiness and/or automotive repair preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with agents, insureds, and mortgages/lien holders via letter, electronic mail, phone, and in-person.
  • Ability to work on own initiative recognizing the timeliness of all responsibilities and functions of the job.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to withstand varied working conditions, which may include indoor and outdoor work, extreme temperature, uneven or slippery surfaces, and possible exposure to pollutants and irritants.
  • Physically able to lift 40 pounds, bend, crawl, climb ladders, and work at heights above ground level.
  • Ability to tolerate prolonged standing, walking, and to conduct visual inspections of the insured property.
  • Ability to work beyond 40 hours or 5 days per week and travel to other districts.
