To be considered you will need:
A high school diploma or equivalent
A valid Utah Driver’s License
To be a United States citizen
To be at least 21 years of age at time of appointment
To obtain/possess and maintain LEO P.O.S.T. certification within 12 months of hire; governed by Utah Code Ann. § 53-6-203
To demonstrate good moral character as determined by a background investigation
To be free of any physical, emotional, or mental conditions that might adversely affect the performance of duty as a Police Officer
To attend mandatory training and qualify annually in specified disciplines and obtain certifications as required by department policy
You may not have been:
Convicted of an offense involving dishonest, unlawful sexual conduct, physical violence and/or domestic violence
Convicted of the unlawful use, sale or possession of a controlled substance in the past five years
Convicted of a crime for which the applicant could have been punished by imprisonment in a federal penitentiary of this or another state

Can provide a sense of security for businesses and citizens within the community
Can perform other duties as assigned
