Position Overview:
As a Barback at FARMSHOP Marin, you will support the bartenders and bar team by ensuring the bar is fully stocked, clean, and efficiently operating. As a Barback at FARMSHOP Marin, you will support the bartenders and bar team by ensuring the bar is fully stocked, clean, and efficiently operating. Your primary responsibility is to assist in providing exceptional service by maintaining an organized and well-prepared bar area, allowing bartenders to focus on crafting high-quality beverages and engaging with guests. This role is essential to maintaining the pace and flow of service in a high-volume, fine dining environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the bar is well-stocked with glassware, garnishes, mixers, and spirits throughout service.
- Assist bartenders with preparation tasks such as cutting garnishes, preparing mixers, and restocking ice.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the bar area, including wiping down surfaces, washing glassware, and disposing of waste.
- Support bartenders by running food and beverage orders to guests, where necessary.
- Monitor inventory levels during service and replenish as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Organize and clean the bar before, during, and after shifts, including restocking all necessary items for the next shift.
- Assist with bar opening and closing procedures, ensuring all cleaning, stocking, and organizing tasks are completed.
- Adhere to FARMSHOP’s standards of hospitality, professionalism, and cleanliness.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing back-of-house areas, such as liquor storage, for easy access during service.
- Comply with all safety and sanitation policies, as well as any legal requirements related to the bar area.
- Previous experience in a barback or similar role in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant or bar is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Team player with a positive, proactive attitude and the ability to assist in multiple areas of the bar.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions effectively.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the business.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Hourly: $16.00 tips
