Farnsworth Group is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering Manager who can oversee and manage the daily operations of our Colorado SUE services. This can be located in either our Denver, Colorado Springs, or Ft. Collins, CO locations.
Our ideal candidate will be able to support all aspects of SUE services and contribute to the growth and development of our Energy and Utilities team in Colorado including, but not limited to, our SUE team. This role requires the ability to direct and coordinate a wide variety of activities and functions to ensure efficient operations and the attainment of organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with various departments to deliver industry-specific capabilities to meet client expectations and grow the SUE business in Colorado
- Manage SUE projects and delegate tasks
- Coordinate with Project Managers to develop SUE specific budgets and scoping exhibits
- Oversee the preparation of and perform QA/QC review of SUE deliverables and sign/seal drawings and reports under Colorado Senate Bill 18-167 and ASCE 38-22
- Train and mentor staff to perform SUE field oversight and prepare SUE deliverables
- Perform and/or schedule field oversight of utility locating and survey crews
- Coordinate with CAD designers to ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables
- Managing and leading the SUE discipline in the region, including involvement in making staffing decisions and hiring of key personnel
- Driving business performance in the region and attracting new talent to build a strong and innovative team
- Collaborating with the leadership team to develop and execute a multi-year strategic plan for SUE growth in the region
- Developing performance metrics and goals and providing support to SUE project managers and team members to ensure positive project outcomes
- Analyzing and preparing recommendations for budgets and effectively allocating limited resources
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, preferably Engineering
- Professional Engineering license in Colorado, preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in a SUE Manager or similar role
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the AE industry in Colorado with demonstrated leadership skills and established relationships with engineering firms and other partners in Colorado
- Proven ability to develop long-term strategic partnerships and business development skills.
- Collaborative team leader who can work effectively with all levels of staff and company leadership.
- Strong track record in attracting and retaining key employees in the discipline.
- Experience managing financial performance
- Willingness to travel as needed for project site meetings, client meetings, and company meetings
- Adhere to applicable safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment both in the office and in the field

Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 annually (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
