What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Farrin?
The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin is a well–established personal injury law firm headquartered in Durham, NC. We handle a high volume of cases and have a lot of great talent on our team, and we are looking to expand our accounting department by adding a new staff accountant.
An ideal candidate would have an accounting/bookkeeping experience, working knowledge of Quick Books, strong Excel (at least intermediate level), strong attention to details, accurate data entry, analytical skills, willing to learn, payroll experience desired but not required.
Job Duties:
- Help with creating various managerial reports in excel. Daily, weekly, monthly reports. We will teach the reports, but a candidate must be an experienced excel user - ability to handle large spreadsheets, manipulate data, sort, filter, Sum-ifs, Vlookups, graphs, other formulas, etc.
- Accounting for one of smaller entities (full charge)
- Help with deposits;
- Bank/account reconciliations;
- Help with month-close, JEs, schedules;
- Help with financial statements, compiling monthly reports for trust accounts;
- Help with payroll - tasks as assigned, based on experience
- Other accounting duties based on experience
This position is in-office or hybrid, at least 3 days a week in the office once fully trained.
