About this position:
Job Type: Full Time, On-Site.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM.
Wage Range: $23.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Farwest’s Purchasing Department, seeks an experienced and knowledgeable individual to join their Eugene team as Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Buyer II. In this role, you will define and manage appropriate inventory levels through sourcing quality products at a competitive cost. Additionally, you will be responsible for fostering and growing supplier relationships while promoting and actively participating in Farwest’s mission and vision.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Secure quotes and negotiate purchase of MRO items including, equipment parts, warehouse products, maintenance, office and janitorial supplies for the Eugene facility and other company locations as needed.
- Source non-stock items for order specific requirements. May include some raw material procurement.
- Maintain accuracy of purchase orders including tracking deliveries, receiving dates, quantity and pricing reconciliation.
- Communicate updates and forecasts for supplier contracts.
- Professional, effective and thorough communication with internal customers to understand requirements and to assure timely execution and receipt of purchase orders.
- Research and establish requirements used in the selection processes to qualify new suppliers.
- Research capital equipment purchases.
- Develop, improve and standardize processes, policies and procedures to allow for more effective use of time and maximize value to our customers.
- Contribute to department and Corporate sourcing and procurement strategies that include effective inventory management, cost and lead time reduction. Involves collaboration with counterpart in Vancouver WA.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) or more years experience as a buyer, or related experience.
- Valid drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree in business, economics or material management.
- Knowledge of steel products and supplies.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Oracle, Bigfoot).
- Ability to critically analyze computer reports and use that information to manage products and supplies.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
