ROLE SUMMARY:
The Director of Production manages all aspects of MIP (Manufacturing Information Portal) production operations. Responsibilities include planning and organizing production activities and resources according to demand and quality standards. Successful candidates will have previous management experience in a large scale operations facility.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages production workflows for vape, extraction, and infused edible product lines.
- Coordinates with other team leaders related to MIP operations.
- Monitors and manages MIP production inventory including equipment and raw materials.
- Analyzes back orders, prioritizes orders, plans, and schedules MIP production operations.
- Coordinates with team supervisors to ensure MIP operations schedules are completed timely.
- Manages and ensures the tracking, reporting, and analysis of MIP production processes.
- Collaborates with MIP quality control team on products in testing status.
- Ensures the packaging and labeling of products are compliant with applicable MED regulations.
- Develops and evaluates KPI's for the extraction, kitchen and MIP packaging teams; in coordination with MIP leadership.
- Leads workforce management efforts for each team including the hiring, onboarding, and separation processes; in coordination with each team supervisor.
- Ensures training processes are compliant, effective, and safe across all teams and positions within extraction, kitchen, and MIP packaging.
- Writes SOP's and continues to refine MIP production processes to maximize efficiency and improve quality.
- Leads development and delivery of Performance Improvement Plans (PIP's) with the assistance of team supervisors.
- Communicates regularly with subordinates and supervisors on progress and strategy.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5 years of experience planning and coordinating production operations for multiple products.
- 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Knowledge of production planning, procedures, and quality control principles.
- Strong leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Experience scheduling, managing, and coaching teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of METRC.
- Knowledge of Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) compliance regulations.
- Proficient computer skills including proficiency with Google Suite.
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous cannabis experience.
- Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning).
- Technical certifications such as an APICS certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
- Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
- Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
- Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
- Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)
WORK SCHEDULE:
40 hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
