The primary responsibility of the bartender is to provide our customers and waitstaff with prompt, courteous service of our frozen daiquiris and beverages. This includes offering samples of our frozen daiquiris as well as suggestive selling of other beverage items. The bartender is also responsible for stocking and maintaining the bar area in a clean and orderly fashion. Specific duties of the bartender should include but not be limited to the following:

• Wipes down the top & front of bar.

• Sets up bar top with bev-naps, drink menus, straws, cups, tip jars and clean, dry ashtrays.

• Sets up condiment tray, checking for freshness of items and replacing items as needed.

• Fills all daiquiri freezers with proper product, and keeps product in the machine hopper stirred.

• Begins turning on machines one hour before opening. Turns on four machines only at one time, waiting 5 minutes before turning on the next four, and so on.

• Ices down the wells and replaces juices, exotic daiquiris, etc. as needed. These should also be checked for freshness.

• Checks the beer in the coolers and restocks, if needed. Rotates cold product to the top.

• Replaces all drip pans to the daiquiri freezers and wipes down the fronts of the freezers.

• Cleans, stocks and organizes back bar and cabinets.

• Cleans, sanitizes and lubricates daiquiri freezers according to designated schedule

and instructions (See MAINT/SANITATION).

• Stands in front of the bar and puts himself in the position of the customer to be sure

that the bar is ready to open.

• Greets guests seated in the bar area or standing at the bar in a friendly manner.

• Provides VIP service to video poker customers, where applicable, making sure the video poker area is always straight, with clean ashtrays. Offers wait service when possible.

• Suggests frozen daiquiris and offers samples, promotes specialty drinks and provides information as needed (ingredients, liquor content, etc.)

• Takes drink order and serves promptly, making sure to check I.D.'s for proof of age and following all company and state guidelines regarding Responsible Serving.

• Makes all drinks accurately, according to recipe, in the proper cup with the proper garnish, if applicable. Always uses a jigger and turns upside down after each use. Returns all bottles to their proper place after use. Rinses measuring glass, shaker and stir spoon after each drink.

• Follows correct cash control procedures. Bartenders are responsible for their banks and any shortages in receipts. All banks should be counted prior to use. Bartenders should never make change for the register from the tip jar.

• Thanks all customers following transaction, regardless of tip.

• Maintains the bar area throughout the shift, keeping the bar top clean and dry, and free of napkins, straws, cups, glasses, dirty ashtrays, etc.

• Refills the daiquiri freezers and washes empty containers and lids throughout the shift, as needed.

• Performs all assigned store-closing duties, including, but not limited to:
• filling all daiquiri freezers;

• cleaning liquor bottles;

• clearing and cleaning the bar top;

• wiping down all stools and placing on top of bar;

• turning off all daiquiri freezers, removing and

• washing lids, soaking drip trays overnight, wiping down machine fronts;

• refrigerating all garnishes and juices

• washing and sanitizing all bar utensils and storing them properly;

• restocking all beer, wine, liquor and other bar supplies;

• pulling all floor mats,sweeping/mopping behind bar;

• preparing all trash for removal;

• emptying, cleaning and sanitizing all ice bins.

• Makes sure all manager's comps and spills are properly recorded.

• Performs any other duties requested by management, including mixing of daiquiri product.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $7.25 - $20.00 per hour
