Our Faurecia Interiors Division is looking for an Automation & Robotics Co-op to be based at our Auburn Hills, MI location!
Position Summary: Automation & Robotics Co-op will be responsible to support new Automation projects which are being developed for various programs and installed into our plants throughout North America. They will work closely with the Automation Project Manager to determine the best Robotic and Automation solution which best fits the needs of the Program and Plant. The co-op should have a Mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of Robotics and Program management.
Responsibilities:
- Support automation development for the program & plant.
- Responsible to calculate various cycle times for robots, automation machinery and manual processes.
- Determine the feasibility of different mechanical and automation solutions on specific processes.
- Work with the plant Engineers to solve issues related to Automation machinery and controls.
- Work with the plant and program teams to collect lessons learned on previous projects.
- Work with suppliers to ensure they implement our standards and all points defined in our specifications
- Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
- Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site

Position Specifications
Knowledge / Skills:
- Mechanical or Controls design, Robotic programming, Robotic or Manufacturing simulation, Program management
- Mechanical & Automation knowledge
Education / Experience:
- Kettering Section A student majoring in the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, CAD, Program Management, Automation Controls Design, Robotic Programming
