We’re hiring a Commodity Manager
Our Clean Mobility Division is looking for a Commodity Manager for its location in Columbus, IN, to structure the building of a supplier panel for one or more commodities, pilot the overall productivity of the panel and manage a commodity team.
You’ll work on challenges that matter
This job will require you to
- Participate in the building of the strategy to be deployed for the specific commodity in coordination with Business Group and company objectives
- Structure the building of the supplier panel: organize associated marketing and pilot supplier selection according to Group criteria
- Pilot panel management: lead the supplier performance follow-up, implement a supplier reduction plan consistent with Business Group and Division objectives
- Define the global productivity objectives of suppliers
- Develop and implement tools to improve global productivity (Low-cost countries, e-sourcing, value-analysis)
- Negotiate general agreements with the main suppliers of assigned commodities
- Ensure the utilisation of the supplier panel by program and plant buyers
- Manage the assigned commodity buyers team
- Report activities following defined policies
The ideal candidate
To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:
- Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Business.
- Minimum 3 years experience in Purchasing in an industrial environment, including a commodity buyer experience
- Deep understanding of business practices, market dynamics and trends
- Knowledge of Purchasing contractual and legal aspects
- Ability to formalize a global commodity strategy
- Fluent in English
- International mindset
- Ability to work in a matrix organization
- Strong business understanding and negotiation skills
- Proven experience in a management role
- Knowledge of assigned commodity (products, technologies, cost models)
- Financial skills
