Fayetteville Technical Community College is seeking qualified applicants for this part-time position.
The part-time Financial Aid Technician is primarily responsible for verifying student FAFSA applications, awarding and processing IART reports , answering incoming calls, monitoring and answering student emails, triaging student records to ensure the student’s needs are met while adhering to federal and state policies related to financial aid.
Duties
The part-time Financial Aid Technician is primarily responsible for verifying student FAFSA applications, awarding and processing IART reports , answering incoming calls, monitoring and answering student emails, triaging student records to ensure the student’s needs are met while adhering to federal and state policies related to financial aid.
The successful candidate will:
- Verify and analyze account information.
- Participate in researching complex problems and discrepancies in students’ records.
- Interpret and explain College polices and procedures relating to financial aid.
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
- Process financial aid awards, input data, assign account codes, make entries of adjustment, and balance assigned funds and accounts.
- Provide financial aid and loan counseling support to students.
- Prepare financial aid reports related to assigned area of responsibility.
- Answer questions, advise, and coordinate with other departments regarding financial aid awards, activities, transactions, and related policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Associate Degree from an accredited college with major course work in accounting or a closely related field with two years of increasingly responsible general clerical experience including one year of clerical accounting or related experience.
Must have strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
Preferred Requirements
Must have strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
Experience with Datatel (Colleague) is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in either Business, Finance, or Accounting is preferred.
