What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Worship position at FBC Monroe?
The Worship Leader is a part-time position tasked with planning, preparing for, and leading a contemporary Sunday worship service that connects with a younger generation, promotes authentic worship, and proclaims the uncompromised message of the Gospel.

Experience planning, preparing, and leading worship services
A heart to lead people in worship and not just lead a worship service

ABILITIES:
Skilled in vocal and instrumental direction
Can proficiently play an instrument in the worship band (we would prefer acoustic guitar but can be open to the right candidate)
Quality singing voice and engaging stage presence
Experience with the use of technology in worship such as lighting, worship software, sound systems, video projection, etc. is a plus but not a must
Team player with good relational skills and a positive attitude
Self-starter who strives for quality and can lead a team successfully
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the congregation in worship and work with our Pastor on the flow and elements of the worship portion of the service
Develop a weekly song set, band members (we provide) and the order we will sing in with the coordination of our Pastor
Communicate song's in advance to the members of our band and Administrator. Currently we use planningcenteronline.com for this task.
Direct a weekly rehearsal with our worship band that both prepares for a quality performance on Sunday, and develops new music to be introduced to the congregation in future services. The worship leader ultimately chooses the music, but it is important that he/she seeks input from the band members and/or our Pastor on song choices.
Help in the development and discipleship of new musicians, and singers.
Work under the guidance of our pastor.
COMPENSATION:
This is a part-time position paid twice a month. Our Sunday services is at 10:30am. Hours for rehearsal can be flexible and TBD with our band. Sunday hours will most likely be 9:30am-12pm. The position is based on quality completion of the assigned responsibilities. Expect between 6-10 hours per week.
